Bank Accounts

View and manage your bank accounts, balances, and connected bank feeds.

Overview

This page displays all your bank accounts as cards, each showing the account name, current balance, and connection status. Bank accounts are asset-type transaction accounts that have been marked as bank accounts.

From here you can:

  • View current balances at a glance
  • Access the balance forecast for each account
  • Navigate to bank reconciliation for a specific account
  • See which accounts have connected bank feeds
  • See which account is shown on invoices for each currency

Bank Feeds

Bank feeds automatically import transactions from your bank into Beeswax. Connected accounts show a feed status indicator on their card.

  • Connect a bank feed from the account's settings
  • Imported transactions appear in the Allocations review queue
  • Refresh feeds manually or let them sync automatically

Balance Forecast

Each bank account card provides access to a balance forecast chart. The forecast uses upcoming invoices and expenses to project your future account balance, helping you anticipate cash flow.

Creating a Bank Account

To add a new bank account, click the New Bank Account button on the Bank Accounts page. You can set:

  • Account name and description
  • Currency
  • BSB and account number
  • IBAN, BIC/SWIFT, or routing details where relevant
  • Opening balance and date
  • Whether the account should appear on invoices for that currency

Note: Bank accounts are used when recording payments, creating bank transfers, and reconciling transactions.

Invoice Bank Details

Invoices use the bank account marked Display on Invoices for the invoice currency. For example, AUD invoices show the selected AUD bank account, while USD invoices show the selected USD bank account.

Only one bank account per currency can be displayed on invoices at a time. When you mark a different account in the same currency, Beeswax automatically clears the previous selection.

On the Bank Accounts page, a star on a bank account card shows that the account is currently used on invoices for its currency.

Editing and Deleting Bank Accounts

You can edit bank account details from the bank account card or account detail page.

Bank accounts that already have transactions cannot be deleted, converted to a non-bank account, or reallocated into a different type of account. This keeps historical payments, transfers, and reconciliations intact. If an account should no longer be used, archive it instead.
